Taiwan’s MICE Promotion Group Visits Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, & Singapore Looking for MICE Opportunities in Southeast Asia

The MEET TAIWAN (Taiwan’s MICE Promotion Project) Southeast Asia Promotional Group led six important domestic corporations to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore for promotional exchanges.


Results were fruitful as the event contributed to a number of Southeast Asian corporations willing to organize corporate incentives trips to Taiwan.

SE Asian Corporate Incentives Bring Endless Business Opportunities to Taiwan

The number of tourists visiting Taiwan from Southeast Asia has steadily climbed, with Singapore placing second among other Southeast Asian countries. In 2014, up to 44 million Malaysian tourists visited Taiwan, bringing about an annual growth of 50 thousand visitors in comparison to the previous year. In recent years, the government has actively encouraged a Muslim-friendly environment in hopes of attracting more Muslim tourists to Taiwan. In May of 2015, Taiwan Tiger Airways also increased round-trip flights to and from Bangkok, which is estimated to bring more tourists to Taiwan. To compete for Southeast Asian enterprises to organize conferences and incentive travel in Taiwan, the Ministry of Economic Affairs Bureau of Foreign Trade commissioned TAITRA to launch Taiwan MICE Promotional Seminars in Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore from July 26th to August 1st. Participating domestic professionals included China Airlines, EVA Airways, Jia An Travel Agency, Chao An International Conventions and Exhibitions, and MSL Group.

The seminars in Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore attracted more than 240 local business representatives, MICE industry professionals, and the media to attend and negotiate one-on-one with domestic industry professionals. The Taiwan MICE promotion group successfully convinced Chevron Phillips Chemical and Singapore Procter & Gamble to arrange corporate conferences and incentive tours to Taiwan between the second half of the year and the first half of the next.

The promotional group also met with enterprises that showed interest in coming to Taiwan for corporate meetings and incentives, including Amway, MyCEB Malaysia Convention Bureau, and KAIMAY, actively promoting Taiwan’s MICE industry, seeking opportunities for cooperation, and hoping to facilitate more Southeast Asian enterprises to choose Taiwan as a top destination for corporate meetings, incentive travel, and exchanges

Open Invitation to SE Asian Enterprises to Enter Asia Super Team Competition

During the promotional seminars, MEET TAIWAN took the opportunity to promote its Asia Super Team: Team Up for ‘GOOD’ competition, enthusiastically inviting Asian corporations from Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Australia to participate in the corporate social responsibility-centered event. Through two-phase interactive competitions on the Internet and on location in Taiwan, the competition promotes Taiwan’s rich resources as ideal for corporate meetings and incentive travel activities.
