Take to the vines, wines and sculpture – discover Wollombi Sculpture in the Vineyards 2016

unnamed-7This November, experience a celebration of art, wine and food throughout the boutique vineyards and picturesque landscapes of Wollombi in the Hunter Valley, as Sculpture in the Vineyards returns for its 14th year this November.Australia’s longest running regional sculpture exhibition, Wollombi Sculpture in the Vineyards celebrates the essence of the Hunter Valley’s vineyards and history in a month long festival free to the public.

With over 60 large scale and site specific sculptures adorning the vineyards, tree groves and gardens of five boutique vineyards throughout the Wollombi Valley and historic Wollombi Village, enjoy the latest in contemporary outdoor sculpture as you relax amongst some of the most scenic surrounds of NSW.

Take a walk through the sculptures, join a guided sculpture, wine and local Aboriginal history tour or indulge in a degustation tour, sampling the boutique wines and gourmet food of the valley. Discover the romantic charm of the historic village with local cafés, shops and parks.

unnamed-8Step through the doors and continue to the indoor sculpture exhibition at the Fireshed Gallery, Wollombi Cultural Centre and in partnership with Cessnock Regional Gallery, Ereignis, a curated exhibition of sculptural practices.

At the end of the day relax with a bottle of wine and stay a little longer at one of the vineyards’ cottages or B&Bs. Located just outside Sydney, take the road less travelled and find yourself in a world of wine, art and splendour.
