The Portuguese Company enhances its leadership within the Iberian Peninsula.

With 994,000 passengers carried between Portugal and Spain in 2013, TAP had a 6% increase of its market share, thus reinforcing its positioning as the leading airline within the Iberian Peninsula. In addition, the company posted an average load-factor of 78%, some 8% above previous year, which resulted from the optimization of its operations between both countries.

Currently, TAP flies daily from Lisbon to seven Spanish destinations – Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Malaga, Bilbao and A Coruña – and also operates to Madrid and Barcelona from Porto as well as from Funchal, Madeira (in Summer).

All flights are to operate according to program in 2014, with TAP planning, however, to grow the seat availability in 15% in the whole, by means of he reinforcement of its capacity to Spain.

The company’s traffic results in the Spanish market were  released out earlier today during the FITUR, the International Travel Market held in Madrid, where TAP is present at Portugal’s pavilion. This will be the occasion for TAP to display and promote the variety and quality of the Portuguese wines served on board, thus enhancing the top quality of the Portuguese wine production.
