TAP Portugal today introduces new daily non-stop service to Lisbon from Boston’s Logan International airport.  Launch fares for the new route start from just $799 (tax included), for roundtrip travel to Lisbon. With these new services, TAP is moving forward in the implementation of its network expansion strategy in the USA, thus allowing North American travelers to fly easily to Lisbon and beyond to further destinations of the company’s network, taking advantage of TAP’s Lisbon hub as a privileged gateway into Europe.

The new route will be operated with new Airbus A330 aircraft with a new onboard product and upgraded customer experience. TAP has taken delivery of two additional Airbus A330’s, which accommodate 271 passengers – 20 in Executive Class, 100 in Economy Plus and 151 in Economy.

TAP’s new Executive Class cabin now boasts 20 full-flat seats from Stelia Solstys and new slim-line Zim EC01 seats have been introduced in other cabins, now with a 34’’ seat pitch in Economy Plus and a 31” pitch in Economy.  Passengers also will enjoy the most advanced audio and visual systems using the most up-to-date Panasonic EX-3 in-flight individual on-demand entertainment system.

“With such a network extension to new destinations in the USA – Boston today (JUN 11) and New York – JFK (as of JUL 1) – along with the introduction of new A330 aircraft in operation on those routes, TAP is significantly improving the product quality and services offered to customers, thus also contributing to increase the number of American visitors travelling to Portugal,” said Fernando Pinto, TAP’s Chief Executive Officer.

From Boston, flights will depart at 7:45pm, arriving at Lisbon at 7:20am (the next day).  Returning flights leave Lisbon at 2:25pm, arriving in Boston at 5pm.

TAP will operate from JetBlue’s Terminal C at Logan.  TAP recently signed a codeshare agreement with JetBlue, the largest domestic airline at Boston Logan,  so that TAP may place its code on JetBlue flights to 34 destinations across the US, providing customers with easy access to cities including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Chicago, Las Vegas, Orlando, Detroit, New Orleans, Savannah, San Juan, Richmond and Tampa.

TAP also begins new daily service to Lisbon from New York’s John F Kennedy airport on July 1. Also, the airline serves Lisbon daily from Miami and Newark, and flies to Oporto twice weekly from Newark. Altogether, TAP now serves 30 flights per week between the US and Portugal.
