TAT and UOB Lady’s Card Jointly Launch the Lady Journey “Go Green” Project For Working Women to Sightsee Thailand, Embrace Environmental Care

amazingThailandOn 13 September 2013, Mrs. Pataraporn Sithivanich – director of TAT Attractions Promotion Division – and Mr. Yuttachai Teyarachakul – UOB executive director of personal financial services – jointly launch the Lady Journey “Go Green” project at the Double Tree Hotel by Hilton in Bangkok.

Prepared by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and the United Overseas Bank Public Company Limited (UOB), this project aims to encourage working women and their gang to make eco-friendly journeys along five recommended routes in five provinces. With charming local ways of life, they are bound to get fascinated and feel responsible for Thai attractions.

Mrs. Pataraporn Sithivanich, director of TAT Attractions Promotion Division, says the TAT and UOB Lady’s Card introduce the Lady Journey “Go Green” project for the purpose of inviting working women and their gang to make eco-friendly sightseeing trips along five routes in five provinces across various regions of Thailand. Through the trips, she says they will get in touch with local ways of life and local culture, get exposed to the charm of local people, gain special experiences, and grow their sense of responsibility for Thailand’s attractions. With their helping hands, Thailand will be able to stay on as a country with sustainable tourism.

The Lady Journey “Go Green” project targets women aged between 25 and 45 years old because women in this age group usually love traveling, have high purchasing power but may often have little time to prepare their trips themselves. Journeys are good to both physical and mental health. They, moreover, have a positive impact on work efficiency. Held between September and November 2013, the Lady Journey “Go Green” project recommends the following five routes in five provinces: First Route: Bicycle Tour around Bang Krachao in Samut Prakan; Second Route: The Old Town of Andaman in Phang Nga; Third Route: Exploring

Nong Khai and Beung Kan on the Bank of Mekong River; Fourth Route: Laplae the Town of Happiness in Uttaradit; and Fifth Route: The Easternmost Islands Town in Trat. All these routes are for eco-tourism. Recommended programs and activities will allow female tourists to sightsee with minimal impacts on the environment and minimum energy consumption. By making such journeys, the ladies will also bolster the local economy. TAT hopes that the Lady Journey “Go Green” project will promote domestic tourism among Thai women and receive warm response again.

Mr.Yuttachai Teyarachakul, UOB executive director of personal financial services, says UOB has pioneered the gender market in credit-card sector. According to him, as the UOB Lady’s Card is created to respond to women’s lifestyle, the UOB constantly seeks to ensure that cardholders enjoy really unique privileges. The UOB has sponsored the Lady Journey campaign for three consecutive years now because it has much confidence in this activity. Yuttachai describes the Lady Journey campaign as interesting, having new appealing routes, and answering well to the needs of new-generation women. He expects the Lady Journey “Go Green” project to boost the image of UOB Lady’s Card even further and to achieve another success that comes from TAT – UOB collaboration.
