Team Hawaii brings ‘Aloha’ spirit to Brisbane Airport Corporation and JR Duty Free Golf Day Hawaiian Airlines and Hawai’i Tourism Oceania brought lots of ‘Aloha’, Mango Daiquiri’s and Blue Hawaiian cocktails, to the tee at 15th hole of Links Hope Island, Gold Coast, on Friday, 24 October 2014, for the 2014 Brisbane
Airport Corporation and JR Duty Free Golf Day.

A veritable “Who’s Who” of Brisbane Airport Corporation and JR Duty Free’s aviation and retail clients and other industry guests were on hand to enjoy a massive day on the course.

Just to be sure no one can forget that Hawaiian Airlines will soon be beefing up its Brisbane to Honolulu service – with the upgrade in aircraft type from the current 264-seat Boeing 767 to larger 294-seat A330 aircraft,
effective 5 December 2014 – the airline put up four free return flights to Honolulu for the team nearest the pin on their second shot on the exceptionally challenging 15th  hole.

The Links Hope Island golf club’s own website describes the 407m (off the blue tee), par 4, 15th hole as: “…the most difficult of all the holes depending on the wind. There is plenty of length. The fairway is bunkered
right and mostly left, but the real test comes with the second shot. The green is set in a dell beyond a ridge and it sits up like a table top. This hole puts everyone to the severest test, so don’t be disappointed with a
five, fours are rare.”

Meeting the challenge on the day and soon to be jetting off to beautiful Hawaii with Hawaiian Airlines was the four man team from DHL Global Forwarding, including: Russell Thomson of DHL Global Forwarding, Noel
Prosser of Toll Priority, Robert Kasch of Toll Global Forwarding and James Cooper of Avid Sports.

To ensure there was plenty of warm, genuine, Hawaiian hospitality and colourful, cruisey (is that a word?) Hawaiian vibe at the drinks station at the 15th tee, Hawaii Tourism Oceania kindly provided entertainment by
Heilani Productions, complete with ukulele player and hula dancer!
