Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) continues to operate regularly scheduled flights to and from Bangkok-Hong Kong and recommends that passengers arrive at the airport earlier than usual. THAI also waived ticket change fees for passengers who missed their flights and had to travel on the next available flight.

Mr. Sumeth Damrongchaitham, THAI President, said that THAI was informed by THAI General Manager and Airport Services Manager, Hong Kong on 1 September 2019 that the airport situation was normal but some passengers missed their flights because the MTR to Hong Kong Airport was hindered by protesters and roads to the airport were highly congested. THAI assisted these passengers by providing seats on the next available flight.  THAI waived ticket change fees for passengers who arrived several hours early. In addition, passengers are recommended to arrive at the airport earlier than usual.

Mr. Thaworn Senium, Deputy Minister of Transport, and Mr. Saksayam Chidchob, Minister of Transport, are monitoring the situation closely out of concern for passengers and requested THAI to accommodate all passengers.

THAI remains concerned about the impact on passengers traveling to and from Bangkok-Hong Kong. Passengers who were booked to travel during 1-30 September 2019 may change their flights without any fees and charges, conditions apply. Ticket changes may be made by 14 October 2019.

THAI is monitoring the situation closely in order to properly assess the situation. Passengers are advised to check the Company’s announcements and keep abreast of all related news.  For further information on flight schedules, passengers may check thaiairways.com or THAI Contact Center at Tel. 02-356-1111 (24-hours a day).
