This being the group’s largest investment in its 10-year history, the group will be forming joint ventures with local partners but still hold a 30 per cent stake on each joint venture. So far, there have been about 5 investors who have shown interest in this project investment.

“We’re ready to start our expansion on a solid foundation. With Trisara, which has been consistently voted as one of the world’s finest resorts, and the iconic Boathouse on Kata Beach in Phuket, both under our ownership and management, our Trisara_Maindeckquest to strengthen and spread the Trisara brand equally in Thailand and ultimately across Asia, will not be so daunting, commented Narong, Chairman of Montara Hospitality Group.

Locally, the group is considering Samui, Phuket and Phang Na for its new openings as they believe it has big potentials. While on the international grounds, the firm will be looking at countries is Maldives and Indonesia. “In the latter, country there are many attractive islands such as Bali and Lombox. However, locations for openings will need to have strong infrastructure, especially facilities nearby for long-term guests.

The concept of Montana’s expansion will include properties being designed to the mixed-use model. The number of rooms will be limited to about 60. They have plans to also sell villas to potential holidaymakers and investors. However, the number of villas for sale will depend on demand in each market. By following this concept, the firm believes it would be easier to break even on its investment faster.

To support this expansion, the Montara group will also establish the Trisara Academy in Phuket which is a hospitality learning institute which will train both Thai and other nationals in all aspects related to the hospitality industry and of course the fine art of service that reflects the owning-family’s passion and knowledge of the industry.

“Thai hospitality has won the hearts of generations of guests and visitors to our Land of Smiles, and this will certainly provide a strong competitive advantage in other countries in which we plan to operate. We look forward to adding 10 Trisara and independently branded luxury properties in our luxury collection within the next few years,” added Narong.
