THAI Prepared for Songkran Holiday

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) announced that it is prepared to provide services to passengers during the Songkran holiday.  

THAI is also offering a special fare promotion for passengers traveling from the provinces to Bangkok, at prices starting at 1,250 baht.

Mr. Chokchai Panyayong, THAI Senior Executive Vice President, Strategy and Sustainable Development,and Acting President, said that THAI is prepared to welcome passengers traveling to join the festivities in Thailand during the Songkran holiday on 12-16 April 2014.  Also, at THAI’s the Royal Orchid Lounge at Suvarnabhumi Airport, passengers may participate in the water blessing ceremony and pay respect to a Buddha figure.

Special meals with be served onboard THAI domestic flights departing from Bangkok during 12 – 14 April 2014, Royal Silk Class passengers will be served Mango with Sticky Rice Gateaux Cake and Economy Class passengers will be served Germinated Brown Rice Takoh. On THAI domestic flights arriving in Bangkok, Royal Silk Class passengers will be served Taro Custard and Economy Class passengers will be served Coconut Milk Jelly.

Onboard THAI international flights departing from Bangkok during 12 – 14 April 2014, the following special meals with also be served.  Royal Silk Class passengers will be served Mango Fish Herbal Salad, Baked Chicken Stuffed with Prunes with Organic Aromatic Two-Toned Rice, Pandanus Pancake, and Mango with Sticky Rice Mousse will be served for dessert. For Royal Silk Class passengers, Mango Fish Herbal Salad, Baked Chicken Stuffed with Prunes with Hom Mali Rice will be served. Mango with Sticky Rice Tart will be served for dessert. For Economy Class passengers, Mango Fish Herbal Salad, Baked Chicken Stuffed with Prunes with Hom Mali Rice will be served. Mango with Sticky Rice Jelly will be served for dessert. (The Songkran special menu will be served only on flights with lunch and dinner service, but not served on flights to India, Pakistan and the Middle East.)

With regards to news concerning Wingspan Company Limited’s outsource staff demanding an increase in benefits, which will not impact on service provision during Songkran.    THAI has taken precautionary measures, whereby passengers are assured service will be provided during that period.
