THAI Supports 2013 S.E.A. Write Awards

On the occasion of the 35th Anniversary of The S.E.A. Write Award Her Majesty the Queen has graciously designated HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to preside on her behalf at The 2013 S.E.A. Write Awards Presentation and Gala Luncheon at the Mandarin Oreintal in Bangkok.

The S.E.A. Write Awards has been presented annually since its creation in 1979 with the aim to encourage writers in ASEAN countries through recognition of the region’s creative literary talents in poetry, short stories, novels, plays, folklore, and scholarly and religious works.

Write Awards, in the ceremony of award winners from ten Southeast Asian countries – Negara Brunei Darussalam, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Republic of the Philippines, Republic of Singapore, Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Republic of Indonesia, Kingdom of Cambodia, Republic of the Union of Myanmar, and the Kingdom of Thailand on their achievements in literature.

The award ceremony was attended by more than 300 distinguished guests, including Ambassadors, senior diplomatic corps members, leading personalities from the literary, business and social circles, and past Thai S.E.A. Write awardees, as well as leading local and international media representatives.
