THAI Technical Department Receives FAA Repair Station Certificate Renewal and Approval to Increase Technical Repair Capabilities
Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) Technical Department received FAA Repair Station Certificate renewal and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approval to increase technical repair capabilities.
Flying Officer Chalermpon Intarawong, THAI Executive Vice President, Technical Department, said that the THAI Technical Department’s aircraft maintenance center is highly efficient with world class standards and has continually received FAA certification with the most recent certificate renewal received in March 2016 from Mr. Jesus R. Gonzales, FAA Principal Maintenance Inspector (PMI), and Mr. Antonio C. Blas, FAA Principal Avionic Inspector (PAI), from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), both of whom conducted an audit on THAI’s Technical Department, Don Mueang.
Audit results concluded that THAI Technical Department standards continue to meet FAA requirements, and as a result the FAA issued FAA Repair Station Certificate renewal and granted approval to increase technical repair capabilities for heavy maintenance and overhaul for Boeing 787 and Airbus A320, A330, A340 which includes Rolls Royce Trent 700 engine repair for customer airlines registered in the United States of America (USA) as well as customer airlines not registered in the USA but contractually binding by aircraft lease with accordance to FAA standards. This FAA Repair Station Certificate renewal is evidence that the THAI Technical Department operates a highly efficient Southeast Asian aircraft maintenance center with recognized world class standards.
