Thanyapura’s Fredrik Croneborg Comes Up Trumps at First Challenge Atlantic City Ironman-Distance Race

Thanyapura Phuket’s Fredrik Croneborg of Sweden won the inaugural Challenge Atlantic City, a 141-mile (226km) long-course triathlon contested in the back bays of Atlantic City, the roads of Atlantic County, and the streets (and Boardwalk) of Absecon Island.

Croneborg, a pro triathlete from Sundborn, Sweden, who is based in Phuket and trains at Thanyapura, finished the Ironman-distance event in eight hours, 31 minutes, 47 seconds, beating second-place American Scott Defillipis, by six minutes, nine seconds to mark his first ever victory over this distance. Taking first place for the pro women was German Carolyn Steffen who is trained by Thanyapura Executive Chairman Chris McCormack.
