Igniting the sparks in advance of Jakarta’s 488th anniversary celebration on 22nd June 2015, the Jakarta Fashion and Food Festival (JFFF) 2015, the yearly grand fiesta of fashion and food, will again light up the capital city from 13th May to 7thJune 2015, taking place at the Summarecon, Kelapa Gading Center.
As in previous years, the festival will feature three main highlights, which are : the Fashion Extravaganza, a Food Festival,and the Gading Nite Carnival.
The Fashion Extravaganza will kick off together with the Fashion Village Trade Show from 13th to 31st May 2015 along the corridors of the Forum Mal Kelapa Gading 3 (MKG3) to MKG5. The trade show will feature Indonesia’s rich heritage through Fashion, presented in ready-to-wear collections by upcoming designers, fashion academies, small and medium businesses, renowned brands, and top designers.
The fashion extravaganza will continue with a series of fashion shows at the Ballroom of Harris Hotel & Conventions Kelapa Gading from 20th to 28th May 2015. As special feature this year, there will be the special Designer’s 1st Show on 20th May featuring collections by two of Indonesia’s most distinguished designers Marga Alam and Adjie Notonogero, as well as special traditional “kebaya” costumes collections from renowned collectors Mien R.Uno and GRA Satuti Yamin.
JFFF will also acknowledge figures who have made significant contributions to the development of the country’s fashion industry in the JFFF Award, which is scheduled to take place on 28th May 2015. The JFFF awarding night will also feature a fashion show of Batik Pekalongan by Didi Budiarjo in collaboration with Pekalongan’s National Board of Handicrafts (Dekranasda).
Presenting various culinary delights from all over Indonesia and Abroad, the Food Festival will take place from 13th May to 7thJune 2015. Some of the finest of Indonesia’s own authentic cuisines will indulge visitors at the ‘Kampoeng Tempoe Doloe’ (Old Time Village), while the Wine&Cheese Expo will take visitors through some of the most exquisite tastes of the world.
Every year, the Kampoeng Tempo Doloe (KTD) manages to bring a special sensation to those who enjoy culinary adventures. This year, taking place at La Piazza, Kelapa Gading, the Kampoeng Tempo Doloe will recreate the ambience of Old Batavia with the theme Soenda Kelapa Harbor. Along with the extraordinary atmosphere, menus from the 30 culinary icons of the archipelago will be ready to indulge visitors.
Next to the KTD, the Wine & Cheese Expo will be held at the Multi Purpose Hall and La Prisma. Featuring some of the best wine, cheese, and chocolates from across the world, the expo is supported by embassies from a number of countries. The Wine & Cheese Expo will also feature Indonesia’s Best Sommelier Competition, Wine Workshop, Jakarta Wine &Cheese Run, and also Wine Dinner with Special Guest Chef.
As in previous editions, the series of events in the Jakarta Fashion and Food festival will kick off with massive excitements at the Gading Nite Carnival. Scheduled to take place on 14th May 2015, this year the carnival will feature the theme:”Odyssey in Harmony”. Illustrating the harmony of different elements including ice, water, fire, sand, and gold, the carnival will feature hundreds of extravagantly dressed dancers in fantastic costumes, decorated floats, multimedia and video mapping, spectacular fireworks, creating a whole lot of excitement.
