After opening its doors earlier this year, The Apurva Kempinski Bali is excited to announce the opening of its signature Japanese restaurant – Izakaya by OKU!

Set atop the majestic cliff of Nusa Dua, with breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean and tropical garden, The Apurva Kempinski Bali offers the epitome of beachfront luxury. This grand property presents itself as a majestic open-air theatre. From the refined characteristics of Balinese architecture, landscape and guiding principle, to the Indonesia-inspired interior design aesthetics, the nation’s heritage and meticulous craftsmanship are thoroughly reflected throughout the hotel.

The Apurva Kempinski Bali has recently launched its latest gastronomic venture with the opening of Izakaya by OKU – the new signature Japanese restaurant that adds to the resort’s dining collection. Izakaya by OKU, is an outpost of the award-winning OKU restaurant at Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta. Izakaya by OKU emphasises bringing out the best of its creations in a dynamic and convivial atmosphere. The 60 seat Japanese restaurant offers a bistro-chic setting and an open-kitchen dining experience, where guests and the chefs are able to interact adding to the sense of fun and enjoyment.

Chef Deni Koswara, who has more than 15 years’ experience in Japanese gastronomy has curated a creative menu, inspired by the traditional Japanese cooking method and ingredients. Some of Izakaya by OKU’s signature dishes that are not to be missed include Karasumi Pasta, OKU Kaarage, OKU Aburi Salmon Roll, Truffle Gyu Don, Saikyo Cod, and Mizu as well as “Okukase” – an enticing five-course and seven-course Chef’s degustation menu paired with sakes and signature cocktails.  Additionally, an extensive range of Japanese traditional sake and shochu as well as creative cocktails are offered, crafted by the resort’s sake sommelier.

Featuring an all-wood structure and earth-coloured tones with subdued lighting, the 60 seat Izakaya by OKU is just the right place to experience the Japanese dining culture in the heart of Nusa Dua.
