The 16 best B-Boys of the Asia-Pacific Region will come together in Seoul this Saturday, Oct. 17, to battle for the prized ticket to advance to the Rome World Final. The full event will be livestreamed at 18:00 local time at redbullbcone.com.
Korea is home to some of the best B-Boys on the planet and the event is particularly memorable, as Seoul hosted the home of the 10th Anniversary Red Bull BC One South Korea World Final 2015,
The Red Bull BC One Asia Pacific Final 2015 will be hosted at Seoul’s AX Hall, the city’s prime Hip Hop culture center since 2006. Home to street culture events such as the Cartel B-Boy projects and Juste Debout, AX Hall is also a coveted venue amongst local MCs.
Of the 16 battlers, only one will earn the coveted spot to go up against the titans of breaking at the Red Bull BC One Italy World Final 2015, to be held in Rome on November 14. The Seoul event is second-to-last stop of the six regional Finals before Rome.
After months of 70 Cyphers, each B-Boy will come to Seoul prepared with an arsenal of moves to impress the judges and crowd alike with their attitude, style and sense of rhythm. Among the B-Boys battling will be returning Asia Pacific Final Blond (Australia) and local heroes Vero (Seoul) and Octopus (Sungnam City)
Presiding over the judges’ panel will be three Red Bull BC One All Stars: Seoul’s own Hong 10 (2013 and 2006 Red Bull BC One World Champion), California’s RoxRite (2011 World Champion) and Las Vegas’ Ronnie (2007 World Champion).
Local B-Boy star Differ and his concept performance will open the evening with a mix of traditional Korean music and 19 dancers, including B-Boys Kill, Random and Shorty Force.
Other side acts will be a martial arts street performance from Red Bull athlete team, Shin Mincheol, and legendary local rapper Loco, who is signed to Jay Park’s AOMG record label.
Red Bull BC One was founded in 2004 in Biel, Switzerland. Over the years, the championship has moved from Germany to Brazil, South Africa, France, the USA, Japan, Russia and South Korea. Today it remains a key event in Hip Hop culture, helping to push the culture forward while respecting the original format of one-on-one battles.
