U River Cruises, the first river cruise dedicated to a new generation of travellers, is excited to announcethree new itineraries and the relaunch of The B  for 2020. Setting sail from April 2020, U’s eight-day itineraries will sail throughout hot spot European destinations such as Vienna, Brussels, Dusseldorf, Salzburg, Bratislava and more. New offerings on the sailings include added overnight stays, complimentary happy hour every night for guests to socialise, and even more active excursions.

The A, which was named “One of the World’s Greatest Places” by TIME magazine, will offer the new Vienna Vibe and Eastern Europe Escapeitineraries, while The B will offer the Amsterdam & Brussels Bound sailing and an updated Rolling on the Rhine itinerary. In addition to U’s four seven-night itineraries, cruises can be combined to create a 14-night Super Cruise without repeating ports.

Amsterdam & Brussels Bound

Debuting on 3 April 2020, The B’s new eight-day itinerary sails between Amsterdam and Brussels, travelling to new destinations for the U brand. Guests will explore Rotterdam, Middelburg, Ghent and Antwerp, while immersing in all sides of the city.  In Brussels, guests can follow master chocolatiers on a U Time excursion as they show them the time-honoured practice of traditional Belgian chocolate making, ending it off with a sweet treat. In the quaint city of Antwerp, U’s local guide will show guests the best local breweries, bars and hot spots.

Vienna Vibe

Launching on 10 April 2020, this eight-day itinerary sails between Nuremberg and Vienna, stopping in charming ports such as Regensburg, Passau, Linz, Melk and Krems. Travellers will experience U Time excursions such as a street art tour of Linz, where there are over 100 graffiti murals to visit, and get up close and personal with the artwork while receiving a graffiti crash course by a local; and a hipster tour of Munich via a nine-seater Bulli, where guests will enjoy the hip shops, eateries and bars. They’ll also experience a hike in the Wachau Valley to view the Aggstein Castle while tasting local cheese and wines; and a special class to learn the Viennese Waltz, a once-in-a-lifetime experience at one of Vienna’s most famous dance schools.

Eastern Europe Escape

Beginning on 24 April 2020, the new Eastern Europe Escape itinerary is the ultimate getaway for travellers seeking to visit both popular and lesser-known European destinations. Sailing between Vienna and Belgrade, the trip also stops in Bratislava, Budapest, Mohacs, and Novi Sad. In Vienna, one U Time tour will take guests to a bespoke coffee shop to fuel up before heading to the adorable boutiques and eateries in the trendy 7th district. In Bratislava, a local expert will

take guests off the beaten path to top Soviet monuments, viewing points and markets as they ride along in Czechoslovakia’s legendary automobile.

Rolling on the Rhine

On 17 April 2020 the popular Rolling on the Rhine itinerary is back and better than ever. Sailing between Amsterdam and Frankfurt, travellers visit Hoorn, Dusseldorf, Cologne, Koblenz, and Rudesheim along the way. New unique excursions on this sailing include a night time Crime Cruise hosted by a local guide and police officer to learn about the crime, mystery, and mayhem that once filled the city in the 1980s; the Taste of Holland Triathalon, which covers the region’s booming fishing industry with a boat tour, three tastings of local seasonal fare; and Game of Wines, the ultimate excursion for Game of Thrones fans, which includes a visit to The Abbey Eberbach for a Riesling wine tasting where the hit TV show was filmed.
