Head bartender Joao Balzani and talented mixologist Alexander Ko have been selected amongst the top 10 finalists to compete in the Hong Kong and Macau Finals this March with their original cocktails created especially for this occasion. Guests coming through the doors will be in luck as they get to indulge in these delicious cocktails, which are filled with bold flavours that pair well with the delicious food served at the bar.

Bringing edginess to the Fatty Crab Bar is Head bartender Joao Balzani, former bar manager at W Hotel Hong Kong and renowned worldwide as the “Champion of Flairing.” Each cocktail created by Joao has his signature style of house-made blends which cannot be missed. He has entered the BACARDÍ Legacy Hong Kong & Macau Final 2014 with Essence of Heritage (HK$110), a mix of Bacardi Superior, lime juice, house-made cinnamon syrup, angostura bitters and mint leaves.  Inspired by an old recipe Joao’s mother inherited from her elders, the simple ingredients used in the cocktail were used in a cake his mother used to bake. This cocktail is an ode to those delicious aromas of citrus fruits and spices that infused the room while cakes were baking in the oven when he was a child.

Alexander Ko brings true craftsmanship to the Fatty Crab Bar with his taste for creating perfectly balanced cocktails. He presents theThe Lost Generation (HK$ 110), a blend of Bacardi Superior, pink grapefruit juice, simple syrup, yellow Chartreuse, lime juice and mint leaves to enter the competition. Similar to the Lost Generation, which is phrase used by Ernest Hemingway to refer to his generation, which were considered as a lost cause but produced several well-known artists. The cocktail represents bitterness through Chartreuse, which then transitions into a soft minty note to represents success. Other ingredients are a variation of the Hemingway Daiquiri to pay homage to Hemingway, the most famous member of the lost generation.

Fatty Crab Bar is the place for a great night out and the Fatty Crew ensures drinks are made to perfection and guests have a more than memorable experience. The cocktails created for the BACARDÍ Legacy Cocktail Competition can be enjoyed at the bar, paired with Fatty Crab’s Bar Menu.
