The Beach Looks Good On Chicago As Greater Fort Lauderdale Warms Up The Windy City

Greater Fort Lauderdale brought the sunshine to the Windy City today with warmth, surf and sand transporting winter-weary Chicagoans to the beaches of South Florida.
The “Beach Looks Good on You” interactive event, presented by the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau, turned Chicago’s Tribune Plaza into a tropical paradise with a “Beach-on-Wheels”, frozen bikinis suspended in ice blocks, welcoming beach cabanas, a huge beachcam screen streaming live images of Fort Lauderdale’s beaches, sculpted ice models, giant sunglasses for photo ops, vending machines dispensing free “Hello Sunny” sunglasses for consumers who tweet #hellosunny, and much more.

From 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Chicagoans were treated to a chance to win a vacation to Greater Fort Lauderdale, an appearance by Chicago Blackhawks Ambassador Tony Esposito who dropped in to meet, greet and sign autographs along with the Chicago Blackhawks Ice Crew and mascot Tommy Hawk, as well as local WGN radio host Bill Leff.
