he Bell Pool Villa Resort Phuket has signalled its intention to target the high end Chinese family market, believing it is ideally placed to tap this key segment given its award-winning inventory of spacious, totally private luxury pool villas.
The Bell owner and Managing Director Antonie Polfliet is confident that when his intimate knowledge of the Chinese market is combined with the dream location, deluxe amenities and Chinese design feel offered by the resort, an increasing number of Mainland families will book stays at the winner of the prestigious Editor’s Choice Award – 2014 World Luxury Hotel Awards.
“We provide guests with absolute privacy, allowing them to enjoy a serene location nestled high in the hills overlooking stunning Kamala Bay and saviourhighly stylised villas, each with a large outdoor pool [8.5 metres by 4 metres],” said the Belgium-born young entrepreneur, who left a real estate venture with his father after discovering his passion for the hospitality industry.
“We give the FIT [fully independent traveller] family market in China something different – a five star home away from home experience for the multitude who are bored with box-like, bland rooms.”
Mr. Polfliet, a long-time Phuket resident fluent in Flemish, Dutch and English and with speaking skills in several other languages including Thai – said The Bell was perfect for families that wanted to spend quality time together while exploring this fascinating destination.
“The Bell for me means a peaceful, tropical environment where you can really take your time to be with loved ones as you enjoy luxurious amenities shielded from the world,” he said. “We fill a gap in the market rather than follow the crowd. As a young developer/hotelier, my goal has always been to change the standard.”
Mr. Polfliet is also driven by the belief that ‘if you really want something you need to go get it’, that ‘success is never handed to you’. He understands that The Bell is a constantly evolving resort experience which continues to get better through innovation, hard work, patience and compassion, and listening to guests. “We always raise the bar because we always learn from our guests,” he said.
