Dancers from the famous Russian ballet brought wonder and delight to commuters and tourists as principle as they performed at King’s Cross station, London.

The Bolshoi ballet dancers Artem Ovcharenko and Anna Tikhomirova danced in their full Swan Lake costume inside Jacques Rival’s artwork entitled IFO (Identified Flying Object).

The giant white ‘birdcage’ installation stands 9metres high, and the bars are wide enough for people to walk through and enjoy the swing that hangs at its centre. By night, the artwork really comes alive in a brilliant array of neon colours.

The principal dancers who married back 2016, and now share a daughter, took time out of their busy schedule at the Royal Opera House to perform outside.

Anna Tikhomirova said about their impromptu performance, “Touring London is always one of the highlights of our year.  It has been incredible to dance on London’s streets, and even better, to perform Swan Lake inside a birdcage!”.

The Bolshoi is touring in London at the Royal Opera House until the 18th of August 2019.
