The Cullen at the centre of Prahran’s foodie scene with the re-launched Gramercy Social

gramercy-social-1The Cullen welcomes Prahran’s new favourite diner destination, Gramercy Social, after a completely refresh in brand, identity, and menu from what was previously Gramercy Bistro.

Grammercy Social sits on the ground floor of The Cullen hotel, bringing a taste of New York to the funky Melbourne hotel, alongside acclaimed dumpling house HuTong offering the best dumplings and duck in town. Guest need not venture any further for the suburbs best food and wine experiences.

The move to Gramercy Social sees the premises, located on Commercial Road in Prahran, move from a modern bistro style setting to serving up Americana style comfort food with a no-fuss, laid back attitude.

Despite being located within the hotel, Gramercy Social defies standard hotel fare, blasting out a diverse, yet focussed range of burgers, salads, share plates and breakfast creations; serving food and booze all day to locals and hotel guests alike.

“The food in New York features a lot of flavours that all come together, you use your hands more, it’s a very casual way of dining and this is what we wanted to create with Gramercy Social,” says its owner Adam Faigen.

Manhattan is famous for its hotel bars and restaurants, with locals regularly hanging out at hotel hotspots for after work drinks or a bite to eat – something Gramercy Social is bringing to Melbourne.

Featuring hot little numbers such as the Williamsburg, The Bronx and the Gramercy cheeseburger, the menu’s burger list is extensive with mouthwatering ingredients including maple bacon, buttermilk fried chicken, American cheese and chipotle mayo; satisfying even the most burger fueled punters.

For those that aren’t partial to a burger, the share plate menu includes dishes such as DIY brisket tacos, Buffalo wings, macancini poppers and pretzel dusted calamari, while mains include the New York strip steak and crispy skin salmon.

Customers can choose from brunch cocktails and other artisanal creations, as well as craft beers, wine and spirits, and can perch themselves in the beer garden on communal or private tables, where food and booze are served all day long.

Located at 162-164 Commercial Road Prahran, Gramercy Social is open every day 6:30am to late.
