The Devil is in the Details: Travelscene Corporate Poll

Don’t worry about the details’. That’s exactly what business travellers want to hear from their Travel Management Companies (TMCs) when embarking on their next company trip, and it means more to them than getting value add-ons, according to the latest survey by Travelscene Corporate.

The survey, conducted recently across global social media website, LinkedIn, found the majority of respondents (38%) valued most their travel manager’s ability to take care of the details so they don’t have to worry when they are on the road. A mere 7% said value ‘add-ons’ were an important benefit of working with a TMC.

The experts at Travelscene Corporate say the devil is in the details and have summarised the top five highlights from the latest polls:

  • A good travel manager is worth their weight in gold: was one of the comments posted in response to the survey, and it sums up key findings perfectly. Travellers want knowledgeable, experienced, corporate travel providers, and when they get it, the opportunities for them can be endless.
  • When you travel as much as I do, hassle-free for me is everything: was another response to the poll. You may have heard it before, but people are still saying it now, hassle-free is a crucial part of the TMC services mix.
  • Traveller service and safety will always be number one on the agenda for Australian companies: and will remain a higher priory than transient discounts. Yes, overall value for money is  vital, but working with a good TMC means businesses don’t need to worry about driving overall savings because their TMC will do it for them – again more details they don’t need to worry about.
  • Better seats, better flight times, shorter layovers, nicer hotels that are closer to work: this is what business travellers want, and are asking for. They also want to have a real conversation with someone who has been there before, knows the airline, the hotel and the city, and can advise them well.
  • Whatever is the top priority for a business should be the top priority for its TMC: business travellers have spoken – they don’t want to worry about the details of their travel bookings, and when TMCs can step in and take care of every aspect, why should they?
