The Dorchester elevates quintessential British tradition with seasonal Afternoon Teas for 2014

Tea Party for October half term, and Christmas Carols afternoon tea

(London) Dorchester Collection’s iconic British hotel, The Dorchester, renowned for its award-winning Afternoon Teas, is delighted to announce new seasonal tea services throughout 2014, providing guests a unique opportunity to celebrate the London social and holiday season while indulging in this quintessential British pastime.

Wimbledon Tea 23 June to 6 July

Honouring one of the UK’s most celebrated sporting events, The Dorchester will serve its annual Wimbledon Afternoon Tea on The Promenade. Executive Chef Henry Brosi and his award-winning pastry team led by David Girard have created a strawberry champagne tarte, a mango and lime delice and a milk chocolate mousse change-over. Tea will be accompanied by a glass of Champagne, traditional strawberries & cream, finger sandwiches and homemade scones. Wimbledon Afternoon Tea at The Dorchester is available at five sittings each day and is priced from £55 per person.

Ice Cream Tea – Friday 1 August – 31 August

Putting a modern twist on the traditional cream tea, The Dorchester’s Ice Cream Tea is a flight of mouth-wateringly delicious, home-made ice creams in four quintessentially English flavours – Elderflower sorbet, Cox apple, English honey and Earl Grey tea – served on a perspex arch in miniature cones. Ice Cream Tea at The Dorchester is available at five sittings each day and is priced from £55 per person.

Mad Hatter’s Tea Party27 – 31 October  

The popular Mad Hatter’s Tea Party inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland will return to The Promenade at The Dorchester for the sixth year. With performances by English National Ballet School’s young dancers and appearances with The Mad Hatter, the March Hare, the Dormouse and Alice herself, the Mad Hatter’s Afternoon Tea includes a selection of Alice in Wonderland inspired cakes such as a chocolate and strawberry hand bag, a coffee tonka top hat and a coconut lime playing card topping. Available at 1:45pm, 2:15pm, 4:15pm and at 4:45pm, and are priced at £55 per adult including a glass of Champagne and £30 for children (Ages 5-11).

Christmas Carols Afternoon Tea22 November to 21 December 2014

Served when The Promenade is adorned with traditional English festive season decorations and accompanied by the resident pianist and children’s school choirs, Christmas Carols Afternoon Tea at The Dorchester will offer guests the ultimate Christmas experience. Featuring a selection of finger sandwiches, freshly baked raisin and plain scones from our own bakery, festive pastries such as a fruit cake Christmas present, a chocolate and chestnut winter land, a Dorchester snowman and mince pies, is available at 2pm and 4:30pm on weekends, and is priced from £65 per adult including a glass of Champagne, and £35 per child (ages 5-11).  Christmas Carols Afternoon tea is available at five sittings each day.

Out of town guests can book accommodation packages during themed afternoon teas, with prices starting from £355 inclusive of VAT and breakfast.
