The Extra Mile With Hertz Gold Plus Rewards®

Hertz’s loyalty programme Gold Plus Rewards® is going the extra mile in Australia from July until September 2017 by offering a one class vehicle upgrade to new members.

The points-based programme, which is free for anyone to join and rewards members with a personalised and priority service, adds to the rental experience by letting members earn points redeemable for reward rental days, skipping the queue and benefitting from complimentary upgrades.

Eoin Macneill, Vice President Hertz Asia Pacific, said: “This year’s Gold Plus Rewards® campaign in Australia is set to make our customers think ‘that’s gold’, capturing the spirit and sentiment of the iconic Aussie phrase. Hertz is achieving this feeling by continuously enhancing the programme to make it even more rewarding.

“Once part of the programme, members can enjoy the benefits of Gold Plus Rewards® across a number of locations in our global network.”

Running until September, the campaign will be seen across outdoor, social and digital platforms, with business and leisure customers in mind.

Gold Plus Rewards® allows members to easily achieve and retain status across three tiers: Gold, Five Star and President’s Circle.


Entry-level members of the program can fast track their pick-up and drop-off experience by bypassing the counter at a number of Hertz locations globally. Every US dollar spent with Hertz or its equivalent in a country’s local currency earns one Gold point.

Five Star®

Members qualify for this tier after seven rentals or by spending the equivalent of US$1,500+ annually. Five Star customers receive free upgrades to the next highest type of rental car, subject to availability and not beyond a ‘Full Size’ vehicle. Additionally, these customers receive 10% bonus points and 600 Rewards Points after every 15 qualifying rentals.

President’s Circle® Status

Members qualify for this tier after twenty rentals in a calendar year or spending the equivalent of US$4,000. The President’s Circle® status comes with a 25% point bonus, one class car upgrades are guaranteed and remain capped at ‘Full Size’ vehicles. Customers will also receive 600 Rewards Points after every 15 qualifying rentals.
