The Flying Winemaker Series – an original 13-part travel documentary showcasing Asian wine production and food pairing, has been licensed by Netflix starting July 2017 to audience across Australia and New Zealand initially, and to be followed by a roll-out plan to other territories globally. Featuring Eddie McDougall aka The Flying Winemaker, audience is set to discover the unique wine growing regions of countries like China, Japan, India, Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand. Wes Dening from WD Entertainment Group is the Executive Producer of this TV series.

Eddie – “I am incredibly excited to be part of the Netflix family. The way they have shaped modern entertainment and attracted viewers is the way of the future. I firmly believe that this partnership highlights The Flying Winemaker’s vision to make wine fun and accessible, whilst at the same time, positions the Asian-way as the one setting the trends for the globe. We look forward to extending this partnership into more territories around the world.”

The success of this original TLC series has since launched the inaugural Asian Wine Review and Festival.  A passion project by Eddie, also Chairman of the Asian Wine Review – The world’s most trusted guide on Asian wine production. The comprehensive book includes over 200 pages of information on must-know wineries in the region, industry knowledge, and the latest business trends. Representing homegrown winemakers, the Asian Wine Review aims to guide wine drinkers globally in navigating the terrain of Asian wines. It is released yearly with a festival celebrating and awarding the best Asian wines in the region, by bringing these producers closer to wine drinkers and distributors.

Raising the visibility of Asian wine and food pairing to the mass market, The Flying Winemaker aims to be the platform to revolutionise the way people perceive and drink wine.
