Singapore Bicentennial 2019 marks the 200th anniversary of Sir Stamford Raffles arrival in Singapore, allowing the Lion City to reflect on its rich and diverse history.   • Raffles in Southeast Asia exhibition, one of the key multimedia events in the Bicentennial programme is located at the doorstep of The Fullerton Hotel Singapore at the Asian Civilisations Museum. The exhibition examines the complex life and times of modern Singapore’s founding father, Sir Stamford Raffles. On until 28 April 2019.

  • The Bicentennial Experience at the Fort Canning Centre, the centrepiece event of the Singapore Bicentennial, this multimedia, sensory experience takes visitors back in time to experience key moments in the city’s transformation dating back to 1299. On until 15 September 2019.

  • BALIKSG: Reflections of Singapore, a year-long augmented reality experiential journey along the Singapore River, revisiting significant events in the nation’s history. On until 28 January 2021.

  • A Dream Under the Southern Bough Reverie: Ming playwright Tang Xianzu is hailed as the Shakespeare of the East. During the Singapore International Festival of Arts, Singaporean company, Toy Factory will bring Tang’s lyrical play to the modern stage.
  • Dionysus: From the hands of visionary director Tadashi Suzuki comes a cross-cultural adaptation of Greek tragedy, The Bacchae, featuring an impressive cast of Indonesian, Japanese and Chinese actors.
