The High Line Hotel Challenges New York’s Social Media Week With A Retro, Fomo-Inducing ‘Analog Week’

April 18, 2018 Hotel News No Comments Email Email
While attendees of the Social Media Week New York conference influence the future from Manhattan’s midtown neighborhood, The High Line Hotel in trendy Chelsea will harken back to a simpler time when a hashtag was merely a pound sign.

The High Line Hotel invites guests and neighbors to give their selfies a break in the first Analog Lounge Monday, April 23 through Friday, April 27, 2018. While birds tweet outside the hotel’s original casement windows, guests will be able to:
  • Type a direct message (DM) to John Mayer and mail it compliments of The High Line Hotel; the singer-songwriter  has promised to respond to a few Dear John letters each day.
  • Visit the pen pal corner and bang out a note on an original Remington 12 Typewriter or Corona Three Bank Antique Folding Portable Typewriter.
  • Tag personal documents with an embosser featuring one of five distinct patterns found throughout The High Line Hotel and the General Theological Seminary.
  • Chat up an international or local friend for free on a 1922 Western Electric 202 rotary dial retrofitted with a pulse to tone converter.
  • Scrawl a meme on a custom, stamped postcard.
  • Throw some shade on The High Line Hotel’s exclusive coloring book.
  • Page through books once owned by the late psychic superstar Ingo Swann and OMG at his handwritten inscriptions.
The Analog Lounge at The High Line Hotel will be open by appointment only for one-hour sessions daily from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Please reserve a spot by emailing your preferences to analog@thehighlinehotel.com. Space is limited.
