Prominent southern Thailand hospitality company Kata Group Resorts has launched a series of complimentary family activities at its two family-focused resorts in the Kata and Karon beach areas of Phuket.
The pioneering resort group, with a 35-year tourism track record and poised for a listing on the Stock Exchange of Thailand in 2017, has raised the bar for family experiences on the island by offering a new free and ongoing series of fun and educational activities at Kata Beach Resort & Spa and Phuket Orchid Resort & Spa from September 1 2015.
Both resorts are leveraging many of the natural highlights in Thailand with programmes involving unique and healthy tropical fruits such as mango, mangosteen, rambutan and bananas and offering Shaken and Stirred fruit cocktail making classes.
The ancient art of Thai massage is another source of inspiration that Kata Group Resorts has turned to as children can learn how to do foot massage and then turn their newly found skills and perform the massage on their parents.
Personalised certificates are provided for the food and beverage and Thai massage programmes by the head chefs or senior therapists at each of the resorts. The complimentary activities are available to all children under 12 years old.
“We are having a lot of fun with this programme,” said Kata Beach Resort & Spa General Manager Andrew Swatdipakdi. “Families are a very important focus for us and we thought what better way to engage them than to look at our core cultural and natural strengths and put a special twist on them for children.”
Among other complimentary activities will be cooking classes for children over eight years old on a Little Chef programme and free swimming and snorkeling lessons in the extensive pools at both resorts called First Bubbles.
“We are delighted to offer more and more activities for children which can be enjoyed with their parents or supervised while Mum and Dad have time to themselves,” said Phuket Orchid Resort & Spa General Manager Philip Raiss.
“What is key for us is offering complimentary activities that not only add value to guests’ stays financially but provide children with fun and educational activities that are uniquely Thai and offer memorable insights into a special culture and country.”
