Pink is a signature colour for the Langham, Hong Kong throughout the year, but from 1 October to 17 November, the famous hotel will be embracing the rosy hue even more than usual as it launches the Magic Pink Afternoon Tea in support of the Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Hosted at The Langham’s iconic Palm Court lobby lounge, the special tea set features a delectable selection of pretty-in-pink sweet and savoury treats beautifully presented on elegant Wedgwood teaware and a traditional three-tier English afternoon tea stand. And for every Magic Pink Afternoon Tea sold, there will be a donation of HK$10 to the Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation to support their dedicated efforts to combat the disease in the local community.

Exquisitely crafted by Executive Pastry Chef David Puig, the sweet delights on offer include: Pink Lady, a cheesecake Magnum popsicle with raspberry jam and pink chocolate coating; Magic Daisy, a raspberry layer cake featuring raspberry confit and raspberry chocolate mousse; White Peach Elixir, a white peach sphere with almond sable and white chocolate whipped cream; Pinkie Lamington, a rose essence lamington cake adorned with strawberry ganache coating and shredded coconut; and Berriolette Milkshake, a rich mini-smoothie made from mixed berries, violet essence jelly, light mousse and milk foam.

Those with a penchant for savoury delicacies will also be spoiled for choice by a tantalising selection that includes: Egg sandwiches with beluga caviar and chivesTomato finger sandwiches with avocado, eggplant and feta; the gently contrasting flavours of the Salmon and pink grapefruit dome; and Classic toasted brioche with Parma ham and cantaloupe.

Guests can also opt for an even more indulgent afternoon tea experience by upgrading to the Deluxe Menu, which includes a glass of champagne or one of three alcoholic drinks designed exclusively for the Magic Pink Afternoon Tea. Bubbly lovers can choose Perrier-Jouët Blason Rosé NV Champagne, served gracefully garnished with raspberries. Cocktail connoisseurs, meanwhile, will be able to choose from the Magic Pink, Roseland and Hong Kong Lady concoctions.

Magic Pink mixes Chase Pink Grapefruit & Pomelo Gin and Fever Tree Aromatic Pink Tonic Water, garnished with an aromatic combination of juniper berry, fig, thyme and a slice of grapefruit. Roseland is a blend of Beefeater Pink Gin, Lillet Blanc, Palm Court Exotic Tea, lime juice, rose syrup and egg white, finished off with a puff of pink cotton candy and edible flowers. And the Hong Kong Lady – winner of The Hong Kong Mixologist Challenge 2019’s final and crafted by The Langham, Hong Kong’s bartender Yuki Ho – features vanilla vodka infused with Earl Grey tea, homemade milk wash Baileys, cranberry juice and lime juice, adorned with orange peel and fresh raspberry.

All tea sets come with warm plain and raisin scones fresh from Palm Court’s very own bakery served with Devonshire clotted cream, strawberry jam and rose preserve.

The Magic Pink Afternoon Tea menu is priced at HK$368 for one person and HK$628 for two, while the Deluxe Menu is priced at HK$548 for one person and HK$918 for two, and is available from 1 October to 17 November, 2019. All prices are subject to a 10% service charge.

To celebrate pink for a good cause, every purchase of a tea set for two can enjoy an extra complimentary tea set for one, exclusively available for online bookings with prepayment.

And to arouse the public awareness on breast cancer, the first 10 guests of each day who follow the hotel’s official Instagram account @LanghamHK and post a photo of their afternoon tea experience with hashtags #LanghamHK and #Pinktober throughout October will receive a special gift of a selfie light. The 3 “pinkest” photos of the month will win a limited edition Langham teddy bear.
