Shoegaze stalwarts The Laurels will bring their lush sonic textures to Sydney and Melbourne this July in support of their forthcoming new single ‘Sound System’.

Returning from studio hibernation at the beginning of this year with  single ‘Monkey On My Back’, the band are ready to get back to doing what they do best, performing to their legions of fans. ‘Sound System’ is the first release since welcoming bassist and celestial vocalist Kat Harley (Mezko) into the band which is sure to bring a fresh dynamic to the band’s well-honed live show.

The pedal heavyweights have been blending the lines between genres since their inception. Over their two full length releases the band have accumulated praise from the Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, Rolling Stone and The Guardian, alongside ‘Album of the Week’ features on community stations around the country.

Through their prolific touring the fuzzed out four piece have amassed a reputation as one of Australia’s best live bands, earning a legion of fans and support offers. Invitations include sharing the stage with Tame Impala, The Black Angels and The Brian Johnstown Massacre and hand picked to play a coveted spot at Austin Psych Festalongside Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Deerhunter and Warpaint, before continuing on amonth long tour of the US. These milestones resulted in a nomination for Best Live Act at FBi Radio’s SMACS.
