The fast-growing Lido Group celebrated a major milestone this month by processing the one millionth booking through its central reservation hub, the Australian Accommodation Data Exchange (AADX).
Lido celebrate one million bookings mres
The Lido Group developed the first AADX back in 2004 in partnership with the Australian Research Council in order to provide a cost-effective way for Australia’s independent and regional properties to connect with Travel Management Companies (TMCs) and online booking engines.
In 2010 the system was completely relaunched and today it provides Lido’s corporate and government clients, along with partner TMCs, with access to thousands of properties across Australia, New Zealand and key international cities.
The Lido Group Managing Director Steve Mackenzie says passing the one million mark within just five years is a remarkable achievement.
“Over the past two years the company has gained significant momentum, with staff numbers growing by more than 50 per cent and bookings accelerating dramatically,” says Mackenzie.
“As a result we anticipate passing the two million bookings mark within the next 18 months.”
Mackenzie says the group has recently installed a ship’s brass bell in its Sydney call centre, which the team now ring every time AADX processes one million dollars’ worth of bookings.
“Not long ago the Million Dollar Bell would have been heard around twice a month, but with our current growth we expect to hear it ring out a record six or seven times this month.”
The Lido Group provides fully-integrated accommodation booking and payment solutions to some of Australia’s major corporations and government organisations, either direct or in partnership with elite TMCs.
