The Living End Announce Special Guests For Their Twangin’ At Twilight Performances In Sydney And Melbourne Four More Shows Across The 2017 Series Sell Out Food & Beverage Info Revealed

With the Opening Weekend of the 2017 Twilight at Taronga presented by ANZand Melbourne Zoo Twilights Summer Concert Series just over a week away, we are thrilled to share that four more shows have sold out and reveal the tasty treats that await our guests in each city. It is with much excitement that we also announce the special guests that will join The Living End for their ‘Twangin’ At Twilight’ performances over four shows in Melbourne and Sydney.

The ‘Twangin’ at Twilight’ shows will see The Living End backed by their string section The String Sirens to perform stripped-back songs, covers, and re-works of their extensive musical catalogue.

Dan Sultan will join the three-piece at Melbourne Zoo Twilights for two nights on Thursday 2nd March and the already sold out Friday 3rd March show. Having previously headlined his own night last year,Dan Sultan will bring his distinctive blues-rock guitar sounds to the mix as they perform some of their greatest hits in the lush surrounds of Melbourne Zoo.

Singer-songwriter and guitarist Josh Pyke will join The Living End on Saturday 4th March, and the legendary Jimmy Barnes will take to the stage on Sunday 5th March – two landmark Australian performers joining the festivities in what is sure to be an unforgettable weekend of music against the stunning backdrop of Sydney Harbour. Tickets to the Sunday 5th March date featuring Jimmy Barnes are on sale now.

This year we are welcoming some of Australia’s most iconic artists to perform across Opening Weekend in both cities. Performing together for the first time ever, Peter Garrett & the Alter Egos will be joined byKev Carmody to open Twilight at Taronga presented by ANZ on Friday 27 January, and perform in Melbourne on Saturday 28 January.

Two legendary Australian rock outfits from the 70s and 80s Jo Jo Zep & The Falcons and The Sportswill cut the ribbon on Melbourne Zoo Twilights in a very special co-headline show featuring their original lineups on Friday 27 January, and perform in Sydney the following night on Saturday 28 January.

Four further shows across the 2017 series have sold out, including The Rubens, who have sold out their second show at Melbourne Zoo Twilights in an incredible feat, Hoodoo Gurus and Björn Again in Melbourne, with crowd-favourite James Morrison Big Band selling out his Twilight at Taronga presented by ANZ performance.

The 2017 series boasts a diverse array of Australian talent such as george and Killing Heidi in a string of special reunion shows, in addition to renowned internationals joining both Zoo lineups including hazy-rock star Kurt Vile, indie-pop duo Tegan and Sara and singer-songwriter Martha Wainwright. Dream-pop quartet Warpaint, along with celebrated Australian rocker Paul Dempsey are taking to the stage at Melbourne Zoo Twilights only, whilst the likes of country songstress Kasey Chambers, Jet and Scottish alt-rockers Teenage Fanclub are performing solely at Twilight at Taronga presented by ANZ.

The ultimate destination for music lovers each year, Melbourne Zoo Twilights and Twilight at Taronga presented by ANZ will see audiences soak up the splendour of summer, as the sun sets over the inner-city gem Melbourne Zoo and harbour-fronted Taronga Zoo.

A variety of delicious food and beverage options will be on offer at both Zoos: The Taste of Twilightszone in Melbourne will have a rotating roster of Food Trucks for the first time ever, with Mr. Burger, Little Mushroom, Greek Street Food, Diggin’ For Fire BBQ and Meat at Pete’s serving up all the good stuff from 6pm each night, with various dietary options available. In Sydney you can pre-order a mouth-watering hamper for two, designed by Taronga Centre’s Executive Chef Craig Milnes, which feature a range of Australian sourced produce, charcuterie, cheeses, and tasty delights with a choice of either a bottle of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, McLaren Vale Shiraz or a South Eastern Australian Sparkling Wine, with vegetarian options available.

All proceeds from the Twilight at Taronga presented by ANZ and Melbourne Zoo Twilights summer concert series go towards their respective conservation work. In 2017, Taronga Zoo will champion the first global community action tool, Wildlife Witness to help in the fight against illegal wildlife trade. Zoos Victoria have been fighting the extinction of the Eastern Barred Bandicoot, playing a key role in the recovery of the species, increasing community awareness and building programs to reintroduce it to the wild.
