The Manor HouseThe Manor House at Fancourt was officially announced as the Winner 2015 – Africa’s Best Romantic Boutique Hotel during a glamourous evening event held by the World Boutique Hotel Awards in London on Friday 30th October 2015.

Among the attendees at the glittering occasion were the world’s best hoteliers, travel industry influencers and members of the press including CNN, The Financial Times and the Luxury Channel.

The World Boutique Hotel Awards, now in its fifth year, is the first and only international awards scheme exclusively dedicated to recognising unique excellence among boutique hotels.

“We received an initial approach by the World Boutique Hotel Awards prestigious panel,” advises Georgie Davidson, CEO of Fancourt.  “Shortly thereafter a team of judges came to stay at the hotel where Guest Operations Manager, Roxanne Marais, looked after them.  It was obvious that they were particularly interested in the history of The Manor House as well as its quintessential hospitality experience.   The personal butler service offered to all guests, and their intimate knowledge of the surrounding area combined contributed to this ultimate award.”

Small and intimate yet intensely stylish, this classical, 19th century hotel is the crown of the Fancourt Estate. With just 18 beautiful, individually decorated suites, a superbly decadent spa and access to three 18-hole golf courses of which The Links is the best in the country, this boutique property is the perfect base from which to explore the highlights of South Africa’s famed Garden Route.

As a South African National Monument, The Manor House was originally built in 1859 and owned by Henry Fancourt White, the engineer who supervised the construction of the Montagu Pass stretching from the city of George over the Outeniqua mountain range to the town of Oudtshoorn.

Exquisitely furnished with sensual and modern finishes, the Manor House offers accommodation of uncompromising quality. Fusing old-world tradition with new-world style, its design combines modern sophistication with its original wooden finishes.

Representing the epitome of romance, The Manor House offers a true feeling of mystery, excitement, and remoteness from everyday life.  Guests can start the day with a freshly cooked breakfast on the balcony of their suite, overlooking the famous Outeniqua mountain range; wander through the magnificent gardens of the Estate; or enjoy a round of golf at South Africa’s top greens in this beautifully tranquil environment.

“We are truly delighted upon receipt of this prestigious award, and look forward to welcoming future guests to the intimacy and enjoyment of the Garden Route’s most romantic boutique hotel,” Ms Davidson proudly concludes.
