Edsa Shangri-La, Manila’s Summer Palace celebrates the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival with mooncakes traditionally shared with loved ones and associates.

Freshly created by Chef Andy Liew, the time-honored treats are available in six flavorful varieties: white lotus, red bean, mixed nuts, green tea, chestnut and winter melon. The Mooncake Counter is available at the hotel’s Tower Wing lobby until September 8, 2014, from 7am to 9pm daily. Prices start from PHP 2,364 net for a box of eight.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is a celebration of thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest during the autumn full moon. An important part of this celebration is moon worship, moon gazing and food offerings made in honor of the moon, a symbol of unity and harmony. Thus the famous mooncakes that we know of today.

Edsa Shangri-La, Manila continues to honor this tradition of mooncake giving as a symbol of family and community. In light of the festivities, the hotel offers up to 30% savings for advance orders until August 24, and for bulk orders of 100 boxes and more. Complimentary delivery to one location for orders of 50 boxes or more are provided within the following areas: Ortigas, Mandaluyong, Greenhills, The Fort and Makati.
