Seychelles-TravelThe sparkling white lovely beaches of Seychelles with its clear blue seas wowed visitors at the Destination’s Holiday and Travel Show in Manchester, UK, last week.

Visitors to the show visited the Seychelles’ stand in throngs and expressed their interest in the destination, especially at a time when the winter is biting hard and people want to get away.

Manchester itself is a strategic city for Seychelles with a number of its tour operators operating from there and the Seychelles Tourist Office for UK and Ireland has said the show is always a success for them, as well as a major opportunity for them to tap into that important hub.

“The show was a great success, with increased interest in the destination. Consumers kept coming to seek information and enquire about booking options. Since there were tour operators who were also promoting the destination, such as Kuoni, information on prices and packages were readily available,” said Eloise Vidot from the Seychelles Tourist Office.

Ms Vidot added that with both Emirates and Etihad flying directly out of Manchester, this city was already an important hub for UK.

“A number of our tour operators also operate out of Manchester, thus making it a great catchment area for us. In view of its success, we will definitely go back next year,” she said.

The Holiday and Travel Show took place from Jan 23-26 and is considered UK’s leading consumer travel event. The show does not only attract over 50,000 travel connoisseurs craving inspiration, information and exclusive deals, but also act as a hub of consumers’ travel information for the press.

The show also provides the perfect platform for the attendance of the most professional, reputable and adventurous travel companies. Providing the consumer with fresh ideas and inspiration for their forthcoming holiday and travel plans, the show is also an opportunity to consult with hundreds of exhibitors including tour operators and tourist boards attending from around the globe.

The Destinations’ Holiday and Travel Show will move to London next week whereby the Seychelles Tourist Office will partner with Just Destinations, one of UK’s leading specialist tour operators, to promote the destination.
