The Myst Dong Khoi as latest addition to luxury boutique hotels in Ho Chi Minh City

Most of the international tourists coming to Ho Chi Minh City try to book a hotel room not far away from the myriad of attractions in District 1, also called Saigon. As the trends go to cozy boutique hotels instead choosing the impersonal high rising hotels typical for the mega-cities in Asia, it is utmost laudable that the 4-star Myst Dong Khoi Hotel is just such an oasis within the towering buildings around.

Located in the heart of the city at 8 Ho Huan Nghiep Street in walking distance to the re-known Opera House and Notre-Dame Cathedral and across from the famous Bach Dang Wharf along the Saigon River, the new boutique hotel has just 12 stories, 2 basements, 1 mezzanine and 108 luxury guest rooms. Before entering the air-conditioned hotel lobby, there is a relaxing outdoor space for guests to sit and enjoy some favorite drinks at a bar corner. Inside the lobby space, there are exhibitions of art objects of the ancient Champa Kingdom such as Hindu statues, a huge “lingam” and decorative pearl chains.

The hotel construction began in December 2014 on the land area of some 563.97 square meters. Actually, it was just inaugurated and put into operation in December 2016 with its unique design and combination of modern architecture, luxurious interior and traditional Vietnamese house style covered with green gardens. Thus it is the only hotel in the inner city, where guests can experience some nature. From the view above, there is a view of the Saigon River and the Tran Hung Dao Memorial.

The guest rooms are spacious with a balcony and have all a separate bathroom and toilet. A huge television set is standard and modern equipment keeps the room cool and very relaxing. The hotel restaurant is at the 12th floor and offers buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. Most of the dishes can be served from a “boat” designed table. Vietnamese dishes like “pho” or fresh spring rolls will be served accordingly. Vietnamese coffee can be ordered from a small bar corner and music will be played at evenings. In addition, the hotel has some other facilities such as sauna, fitness center, KL health spa and swimming pool at the top floor with superb view into the urban surroundings.

The hotel is conveniently located around the corner of the famous “Rue Catinat”, which is called Dong Khoi since Vietnam’s independence and re-unification in 1975. Nearby are the traditional hotels of the Grand Hotel, Majestic, Caravelle and Continental. To walk along the Saigon River to reach the Ho Chi Minh Museum at the Dragon Wharf is a must, same as a walk along the busy Nguyen Hue Boulevard towards the Rex Hotel Saigon and the colonial Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Building.

If there is anything to make your stay perfect, please let the General Manager, Miss Hanh Lam to know, and it will be sure that your desires will be fulfilled. Even “Internet” connections are possible to use near a small garden restaurant beside the lobby of the highly recommended hotel.
