Sydney Zoo is making dreams come true for little animal lovers as it calls on kids to put their paws up for the zoo’s second intake of Mini Zookeepers.

As the first herd of Sydney Zoo Mini Zookeepers celebrate their one year anniversary in the once-in-a-lifetime positions, Sydney Zoo is now looking for two more budding animal enthusiasts to continue to champion learning and animal conservation, and become an integral part of the upcoming opening of Sydney’s newest zoo in Bungarribee Park.

The two selected Mini Zookeepers will go on a trip of a lifetime to Singapore Zoo to learn about animal breeding programs and wildlife conservation, with 50 runners up receiving a family ticket to Sydney Zoo.

The highly sought-after Mini Zookeeper positions are open to kids aged 3 to 15 who have a passion for creatures big and small, are wildly enthusiastic about learning, curious about the conservation of animals and will help Sydney Zoo in securing a sustainable future for wildlife.

Managing Director of Sydney Zoo, Jake Burgess, says a second intake of Sydney Zoo Mini Zookeepers is a no brainer after the overwhelming response to year one of the program in 2018.

“Sydney Zoo will open its doors by the end of the year and become one of the most significant attractions in Western Sydney. The initiative reinforces our commitment to education and animal welfare, with each Mini Zookeeper playing an important role in making the Zoo a safe and happy new home for its animals.”
