The Oberoi, Bali & The Oberoi, Lombok

The Oberoi, Bali and The Oberoi, Lombok have the distinct pleasure of being the only two Oberoi Hotels & Resorts properties in Indonesia.  While both are as unique as their stunning paradise locations, they share the Oberoi Group’s unwavering dedication to the highest standards of luxury, beauty and exceptional service.

The Oberoi, Bali, located on the fashionable and sophisticated Seminyak Beach on the southwest coast of the island, is spread across 6 hectares of breathtaking tropical gardens.  Dotted throughout the immaculately presented grounds, which run alongside 500 metres of golden sandy beach, private villas and guest rooms are decorated in traditional Balinese style.

The bright and spacious suites feature magnificent views out to the Indian Ocean and the vibrantly coloured tropical hotel grounds, thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows that provide wonderful natural light and allow gentle sea breezes to flow through the spaces.  With charming, traditional thatch roofs and intricately carved wooden ceilings, the stylish rooms and villas are furnished with rich, polished wood and natural fabrics, and equipped with the latest in modern technologies and 24-hour services for guests.  Sunken marble bathrooms look out onto private, sun-kissed gardens, ornate with Balinese sculptures.

Guests looking to enjoy an elegant fine dining experience can visit the traditional, open-air Kura Kura Restaurant at the hotel, which serves European and Indonesian delicacies.  Frangipani al fresco café is also a must, as is the charming Kayu Bar that serves classic and contemporary cocktails, Champagne and fine wines until late.  The natural stone Amphitheatre is where guests can view traditional Balinese dance performances while dining at intimate candlelit tables.  In addition, The Oberoi, Bali offers romantic, candlelit dinners for two under the stars on Seminyak Beach with a specially curated menu accompanied by soft, traditional Balinese instruments.

The hotel’s Spa offers therapies such as Balinese, Thai, Western and Oberoi signature treatments to cleanse, tone and refresh body and mind.  Aqua Pilates and beachfront yoga is also available on request.  Nearby, the air-conditioned gym and floodlit tennis court give guests the opportunity to work on their fitness.  The Oberoi, Bali’s spectacular swimming pool is located along the beachfront and affords uninterrupted views across Seminyak beach.

A range of authentic Balinese experiences can be specially crafted to delight, thrill and reveal the secrets of this mystical island paradise to guests.  For example, couples can join in a Balinese full moon ceremony with worshippers at an authentic Hindu temple, or perhaps a Sunset Blessing at Petitenget Temple.  Couples may choose to renew their marriage vows in an authentic Balinese Hindu ceremony, or even visit the protected turtle sanctuary to release baby turtles safely out to sea.

Located just to the east of Bali is the island of Lombok, where, on the northeast coast, The Oberoi, Lombok sits on the shores of the enchanting Medana Bay.  Featuring exclusive private beach access and sunset views of Bali’s volcanic Mount Agung, The Oberoi, Lombok spans 10 hectares of beautifully landscaped gardens abundant with towering indigenous trees, flaming bougainvillea and headily scented frangipani.  A gorgeous infinity pool looks out over the lapping blue waters of the Bay.

Accommodation at The Oberoi, Lombok includes luxurious pavilions and expansive villas with private gardens or pools, affording either tropical garden views or spectacular ocean vistas.  All are sheltered under traditional thatched roofs and feature large windows that harmonise the distinction between the outside and in.  Local, traditional fabrics and artefacts adorn the wooden floors and walls.  All suites feature modern conveniences and are served 24 hours a day by a personal butler.

All of The Oberoi, Lombok’s dining venues are decorated with local, handcrafted sculptures and objects, and have views of the hotel’s infinity pool and ocean beyond. The award-winning Lumbung Restaurant serves Indonesian, Western and Indian cuisine in a stylish and relaxed atmosphere.  The Sunbird Café is a garden-set al fresco dining space with an outdoor kitchen, while the open-air Tokek Bar is the perfect spot to enjoy a book or board game over a leisurely cocktail, wine or Lombok coffee.

Guests at The Oberoi, Lombok may also experience a romantic, candlelit dinner on Medana Beach with a bespoke seven-course menu of Indonesian delicacies.  In addition, once a week at the open-air Amphitheatre, surrounded by the flickering light of candles, guests can enjoy fine cuisine a la carte accompanied by traditional music and authentic ‘Sasak’ dance performances.

Further experiences unique to The Oberoi, Lombok, include the magical Sunset Cruise; a snorkelling trip to the Gili Islands; or a ride in a traditional, hand painted cidomo (horse drawn cart) to a local market and village with an expert guide.

Offering both relaxing and revitalising treatments, the Spa at Oberoi, Lombok features traditional Balinese, Thai, Western and signature Oberoi therapies set within private walled gardens.  Fitness is also well catered for, with an air-conditioned gym, tennis court, croquet lawn and PADI certified dive centre.
