-The ONE Group Hospitality, Inc. (“The ONE Group”) (Nasdaq:STKS) today announced a STK Rebel will open in Andaz San Diego, a lifestyle boutique hotel operated by Hyatt and owned by Xenia Hotels & Resorts, Inc. (“Xenia”) (NYSE:XHR). Located at 600 F Street in San Diego’s historic Gaslamp Quarter, the hotel is in the heart of the city’s entertainment and nightlife district.
“This announcement is an integral step in our company’s growth plan, expanding our footprint into a new city and embarking on a new partnership with two leading organizations in the hotel and hospitality sector. Andaz San Diego is a natural opportunity for The ONE Group due to the Andaz brand’s strength in the lifestyle sector and the hotel’s focus on creating a vibrant food and nightlife scene in the city,” said Jonathan Segal, CEO of The ONE Group. “Hotel guests and locals alike will have the opportunity to not only enjoy a contemporary dining experience, but a perfect night out with the addition of STK Rebel.”
STK Rebel, an extension of the primary STK brand, maintains the unique features and energy of STK, and offers a menu and price point targeted to a broader national and international market. At 4,200 square feet, the restaurant will include both indoor and outdoor seating along with two private dining areas. The San Diego STK Rebel will be the fourth venue joining previously announced locations in Denver, Miami and Austin.
“We are delighted to welcome STK Rebel to Andaz San Diego,” said Marc Ellin, Senior Vice President of Hyatt. “The ONE Group’s expertise in working within the hotel industry is well known and the restaurant is an exciting and complementary addition to this property. We believe that the nationally recognized STK experience coupled with Andaz San Diego’s young, downtown vibe will elevate the appeal of both brands in San Diego.”
“We are pleased we are able to further enhance an important asset in our portfolio through the addition of STK Rebel at Andaz San Diego,” said Marcel Verbaas, President and CEO of Xenia. “We are looking forward to our new relationship with The ONE Group while continuing our strong relationship with Hyatt.”
“We look forward to a busy 2016 with San Diego joining our current plans for openings in Dallas and Austin,” Segal added. “We also expect to sign several more leases in the coming months which will solidify our new restaurant opening plans for 2016.”
