Ramada Eco Beach Resort’s main access road has now reopened after being submerged under two metres of water since January this year. As a result, over 100 guests were helicoptered into Eco Beach by KAS helicopters for the opening weekend in April.

The resort experienced unprecedented amounts of rain during the wet season that saw the only public road being cut off. After the opening weekend, all overnight guests were transferred through a neighbouring private cattle farm. Logistically, it was a massive effort by the team on the ground, to ensure the timely pick-up and drop-off of the guests in such a remarkable, yet remote destination. The reopening of the road comes as Broome hits the high season for travellers.

The team is eager and excited to welcome self-drive day visitors and overnight guests to the resort, after a challenging first half of the season. The Resort Manager Jessica Martin said, “We are very pleased at how the team have taken this in their stride and how the Broome Community have helped with deliveries of food and essentials to the resort, which made it possible to keep operating at this difficult time”.

The team at Ramada Eco Beach Resort would like to sincerely thank the locals and guests alike for their support during one of its most challenging seasons in recent times.
