With acclaim rising around the world for The Sanchaya, the remarkable new 21-villa and nine-suite estate is building a bridge from Singapore to Bintan for MICE planners on the lookout for a world-class collection of venues.

Featuring crisp, neutral tones, polished timber floors, stylish furnishings including porter chairs and rare artifacts offering glimpses into Southeast Asia’s history, The Sanchaya’s immaculate function venue dubbed The Dahlia can host up to 75 people theatre-style or 48 for a banquet.

The Dahlia opens up to a colonial-style terrace and impeccably manicured lawn suitable for cocktails and outdoor event segments overlooking the estate’s 50-meter long infinity pool and the South China Sea beyond. Cocktails by the beach or the pool, and private wine tastings with The Sanchaya’s sommelier are among a host of other event options.

Situated on Indonesia’s Bintan Island, The Sanchaya has been selected for inclusion on the Condé Nast Traveler Hot List of Best New Hotels in the World, Travel + Leisure IT List for Best 43 New Hotels Around the Globe, DestinAsian’s Luxe List and World Travel’s Luxury 50, all for 2015.

P49 Deesign & Associates, the team behind a design that captures the elegance of the Orient with European refinement, clinched the International Hotel and Property Award 2015 in the under 50 rooms Asia-Pacific category for The Sanchaya.

Meanwhile, The Sanchaya is emerging as an idyllic alternative to Singapore-based MICE initiatives (meetings, incentives, conferences, events), especially as the bleisure trend takes root in Asia.

“However 19th Century the ambiance in our suites, our library, salon and our grounds, the estate is really answering the call of the 21st Century traveler,” said estate manager Anshuman Narayan. “More and more, we’re seeing an intertwining of our business lives, and our leisure lives, and more and more, there’s a demand for venues that excel on each front.”

The Sanchaya offers one-of-a-kind half and full day meeting packages, and special corporate room rates for its junior sea view and garden view suites, one-bedroom villas in the Thai-inspired Lawan Village, and the Leelawadee compound with its a private pool.

Full access is granted to all of The Sanchaya’s facilities including The Bar, one of Asia’s most remarkable new drinking establishments, replete with vintage prints, antique telescopes, custom furniture and other trappings of a 19th Century Explorer’s Club.

Attendees can also savor vintage wine, cheese and other gourmet snacks while perusing a vast selection of handpicked books at the majestic Salon and Library that houses Decanter, the estate’s wine cellar and wine and cheese tasting area.

The estate’s full-day and half-day packages, priced at US$110 and US$95 per person respectively, are based on a minimum of 10 people and include use of state-of-the-art audio and visual equipment, two themed coffee breaks and a two or three-course lunch. Fees for one villa or suite are waived for every seven villas or suites booked, to a maximum of two free villas or suites.

For the ultimate getaway experience, exclusive use is available with a total buyout of the property.
