“6075 Macau Hotel Art Fair” is the first art fair in Macau showcasing art works in hotel rooms. It aims to promote tourism and support the development of creative industries, bringing creativity into the homely hotel rooms. The Second “6075 Macau Hotel Art Fair” will be held from 24th to 27th November 2016, featuring 60 young artists from local and overseas who were born after 1975. These artists will ignite the vitality of each hotel room by presenting their unique solo projects. The Second “6075 Macau Hotel Art Fair” takes place in Regency Art Hotel and offers a platform for cultural exchange and connect collectors with art pieces of great potential.
The Second “6075 Macau Hotel Art Fair” attracted 39 galleries and art organisations, 60 artists from a total of 7 countries and regions – Macau, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Mainland China, Japan, Myanmar, and Malaysia – to bring their best selected art works and integrate with the hotel rooms. The fair serves as a platform for international art exchange and sales, bringing a new platform for art display and sale for the cultural arts industry in Macau, and helps to shape a diversified and innovative atmosphere in Macau. This promotes the continuing cultural arts development of the Macao SAR government, and thereby motivates the development of local tourism, and enhances Macau in becoming the world’s young and dynamic Art Capital.
Apart from the main “6075” sector – 60 artists born after 1975, to continue the “Special Project” sector, the Second “6075 Macau Hotel Art Fair” will collaborate with the China Academy of Art presenting creative works by five young artists born after 1975. The fair is also generously supported by the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR who will introduce local outstanding young artists to encourage academic interaction. The Second “6075 Macau Hotel Art Fair” will launch a brand new sector – “Special Discovery” sector – dedicated to one specific form of art. The upcoming fair will showcase and explore new possibility of photography and video works by emerging artists. Meanwhile, the fair also collaborates with the Dr. Stanley Ho Foundation presenting the “Dr. Stanley Ho Foundation Art Award” to select potential young artists with outstanding performance for supporting their future development and encourage future creation.
