Content First today announced that it will be delivering six presentations over three days for the “South Australian Tourism Online Marketing Conference Program.” The presentations will be held in Barossa on Tuesday September 17, in Adelaide on Wednesday Sept 18 and McLaren Vale on Thursday September 19.
It’s no secret that content marketing is exploding, in part due to Google’s crackdown on link spam. Eighty-six percent of B2C organisations are currently estimated to use content marketing — regardless of company size or industry.

“Tourism operators are sitting on mountains of remarkable content assets,” Adam Wallace, founder and Digital Marketing Director of Content First explains. “Beautiful imagery, compelling customer experiences, amazing brand stories, engaging videos…What they lack is a strategic content marketing plan to tell their stories and attract their ideal audience. Content Marketing targets both potential customers and customer influencers.”

Content First’s content marketing presentation will answer the following questions for participants:

  1. Why their website isn’t the cash cow it should be
  2. How content marketing is going to impact their business
  3. How content marketing can be used to build their own audience

Supporting the content marketing presentation is Digital Marketing Strategist Julia Campbell, who will bring tourism operators up to speed on the latest Google Products for Travel including Google Hotel Finder, Google Plus Local, Google Maps Engine, Google City Expert, Google Flights & Google Transit.

“It’s clear that Google is charging forward with consumer based travel tools and advice, in conjunction with Online Travel Agents,” she explains. “Tourism Operators need to both embrace the new changes but also free themselves from the mindset of purely chasing rankings. This is best achieved by leveraging content marketing to build their own audiences.”

VIPs attending the conference include The Honorable Leon Bignell (South Australia Minister For Tourism), Rodney Harrex (CEO South Australia Tourism Commission) and Nick Drivas (Conference MC & Marketing Director).
