The Star Gold Coast Reveals Sneak Peek of Lavish New Rooftop Destination

The first look at The Star Gold Coast’s premium new rooftop venue, Nineteen at The Star, ahead of its official launch, has unveiled an international cutting-edge vision of high-end class and sophistication that celebrates the natural beauty of the region.

Located on the top level of The Darling – The Star’s new luxury suite hotel – the unique new rooftop restaurant and bar will officially launch on Friday March 23 offering a superior dining and entertainment experience with spectacular coastal and city skyline views.

The Star Gold Coast has joined forces with high profile duo, Gold Coast restaurateur Simon Gloftis and entertainment guru Billy Cross, in the creation of Nineteen at The Star as part of a redevelopment delivered ahead of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.

The Star Entertainment Group Managing Director Queensland Geoff Hogg said the style, design and vibe of Nineteen at The Star revolutionises how exceptional, high-end dining experiences are delivered on the Gold Coast.

“As a hero feature of our monumental transformation, Nineteen at The Star has been carefully designed for those who seek a truly high-class venue with an eye for design and with a desire to experience only the very best in dining and entertainment,” Mr Hogg said.

“With eleven new bars and restaurants successfully unveiled as part of our redevelopment, we are incredibly proud to have well and truly delivered on our promise of taking dining and entertainment to unrivalled new heights.

“Coupled with the excitement around the opening of our lavish new hotel, The Darling, the launch of Nineteen at The Star will be a defining moment in embedding The Star Gold Coast as a world-class integrated resort and an absolute must-see for visitors to our City.”

The Star Gold Coast has partnered with acclaimed restaurateur Simon Gloftis, and Billy Cross, CEO of Queensland’s largest outdoor event and festival company Cross Promotions International.

“I have devoted the past three decades to creating iconic entertainment experiences spanning two continents but right now the spotlight is on our City, and Australia and the world is just days away from experiencing one of the country’s most exciting new venues,” Mr Cross said.

“Nineteen at The Star’s enviable rooftop location, its cutting-edge design and its premium, lush bar designed to entertain 300-500 guests, form the essential elements to luring the hottest high-end local and international DJ’s to the Gold Coast.”

Simon Gloftis, a highly sought-after icon on the food scene as owner of popular Greek restaurant Hellenika and former owner of The Fish House, has been a pre-eminent force in evolving the Gold Coast dining landscape.

“People crave the new and the different and for me it is all about continually revolutionising how we deliver exceptional food experiences with a unique twist, and Nineteen at The Star does just that”, Mr Gloftis said.

“There are no short cuts with Nineteen at The Star, the lush venue’s 110-seat restaurant overlooks a stunning infinity pool and the incredible Gold Coast skyline while also featuring a private dining area for the intimate and the exclusive.

“We are delivering a high-end, seasonal produce-driven experience with a focus on simplicity and elegance with signature dishes including a Rock Lobster Bolognese and a 400g Wagyu Sirloin Kiwami MB9, an Australian first and premium dish designed for two.”

In partnership with multi award-winning firm Mim Design, the design concept for Nineteen at The Star was born through a vision of marrying the iconic natural elements of the Gold Coast with premium custom-made materials and innovative interior design.

Upon entry, guests are greeted with a seamless glittering luxury space, the centrepiece of the venue, with stone floors, gilded finishes and a floating, undulating chandelier which lead out to the stunning infinity pool, the restaurant and the bar.

With a rich green colour palette reminiscent of the surrounding hinterland, the restaurant features large architectural elements of stone, double height spaces including a wine room, and vertical brass detailing enhancing the volume of the dining space. A sweeping curved stair leads to a beautifully finished private dining room where guests are enveloped in rich decadent finishes, while a

ith wrapping velvet banquettes which have been designed to emulate luxury in every form. The atmosphere is classy and elegant, stone bars and a palette of gentle blues and teals creating an ambience of luxury and excitement. The colours most prevalent in Nineteen at The Star are elegant forest greens, pumice whites, teal ocean blues and softly gilded brass colours, all taking inspiration from the surrounding environment. The bar is lighter and reminiscent of a translucent cocktail while the restaurant is strong and fresh, an interior that matches the menu.

From consultation with specialists in the wine arena for its double height, glass framed wine room with a capacity of more than 1,500 bottles, through to the floating chandeliers carefully designed and created by a specialist Australian supplier, the majority of the venue’s feature elements are custom designed.

Nineteen at The Star will be open for booking from Saturday March 24. The restaurant will be open for lunch Wednesday to Sunday and dinner Wednesday to Saturday, and the bar will be open from 4pm daily Wednesday to Sunday.
