The Texas State Railroad opens ticket sales to its new dining trains for the 2016 season. Building upon the recognition earned by the food and beverage service aboard the Premier Rail Collections’ Pullman Rail Journeys, the new dining train christened “The Pullman Table” focuses on the hearty, agricultural bounty of East Texas. Three course menus are being curated to source meat, produce, dairy, wine, beer and other signature ingredients representative of the region.
“The Pullman Table offers guests exceptional dining, attention to detail and high service standards that modern diners, especially those that live in and visit East Texas, have come to expect,” stated Angela Lane, vice president of sales and marketing for the Premier Rail Collection. “The advantage we have is the ability to offer this experience on vintage train cars.”
The concept of The Pullman Table embodies the service standard set by The Pullman Company at the turn of the century and the forward-thinking, adaptive approach to dining and taste that Pullman would continue to embrace today. For many years – and still holds true today – railroads played an integral role in moving freshly grown ingredients and regional agriculture around the country. The Pullman Table reestablishes this tradition by sourcing fresh ingredients right in the region from which they originate, pairing expertly crafted dishes with local craft beer, wine and spirits. This approach invites passengers to literally and figuratively get a taste of what each region is made of. Sample menus will be available on the railroad’s website.
The Pullman Table will operate June 3rd through October 30th offering Friday lunch trains, Saturday dinner trains and Sunday brunch trains. Tickets range from $95 for Standard Class and $120 for Diamond Class with an optional upgrade to a private table in both Standard and Diamond Class for an additional per person charge. Private tables are limited.
Tickets can be purchased at www.texasstaterr.com or by phone at 877-726-7245.
