The Vale Niseko successfully defended its title as World’s Best Ski Boutique Hotel at the World Ski Awards 2015 Gala Awards Ceremony.
NISADE Chairman Jonathan Martin and daughter Neve celebrate their victory at the World Ski Awards
The region of Niseko made a clean sweep in the Japanese category for the second year in a row, proving that this blossoming ski town is a force to be reckoned with in the international ski industry.
The World Ski Awards is the only global initiative that rewards outstanding performance in ski hospitality services, and it is quickly becoming recognized as the industry standard to aspire to.
Developed and managed by Niseko Alpine Developments [NISADE], The Vale Niseko has become synonymous with ski-in luxury in the famous Japanese ski town of Hirafu. Its third win at the annual World Ski Awards is a testimony to the efforts of the small and passionate team that are constantly hard at work to bring the world this impressive ski boutique hotel. NISADE Chairman Jonathan Martin and daughter Nevé were in attendance to accept the prestigious award at the extravagant World Ski Awards Gala.
‘What’s really humbling about these awards is that they are voted on by the public, as well as by industry professionals,’ said Mr. Martin, ‘You can compare hotels and services all day long, but in the end it is about where people want to stay.’
Niseko United Ski Resort and Hilton Niseko Village are now three-time winners in the categories of Japan’s Best Ski Resort and Japan’s Best Ski Hotel respectively, while HT’s Sekka Kan defended their 2014 title of Japan’s Best Ski Chalet.
Now that The Vale Niseko has three wins and two World’s Best titles under its belt, the only question is; where to next?
Mr. Martin said, ‘The only way is up. Any of tonight’s Niseko winners can tell you that the resort is in a vital and exciting period of development, and it’s only going to get better. There are so many revolutionary projects planned for the future of Niseko that the town is guaranteed to be a buoyant and changing place for many years to come.’
Niseko’s slew of trophies at The World Ski Awards is a welcomed boost for the area at large, and The Vale Niseko achieving a World’s Best title once again has brought much international attention to the once little-known ski town.
‘We are so proud to offer visitors a boutique hotel experience like The Vale Niseko, and it’s easy to see that it is the passion and hard work of the staff that lead them to victory,’ said Yoshito Tanaka, Kutchan Town Council Member and Niseko Promotion Board Executive Director, ‘Skiing in Niseko offers over 50 years of remarkable history, and a local hotel winning the World’s Best award two years in a row is a wonderful way to embark upon our journey to make new history.’
NISADE and The Vale Niseko have also been recognized in the Asia Pacific Property Awards, The International Hotel Awards, the IAIR Awards and the Luxury Travel Guide Global Awards for exceptional standards of hospitality in the ski tourism industry. With several new projects in the works we eagerly await the next big move from this innovative company.
