One of Britain’s most exciting and directional footwear designers, Nicholas Kirkwood – who has won the British Fashion Award for Best Accessory Designer of the Year no less than three times – has opened a temporary boutique in the Village, which will be open until mid-October. Also GINA, the iconic shoemaker now in its sixtieth year, has opened its first ever UK outlet boutique in the Village. From 6 September to 4 January, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London will present Horst: Photographer of Style, a retrospective of the work of leading photographer Horst P. Horst (1906–1999). As official partners, and as part of the ‘Curators of Style’ campaign, Bicester Village and Kildare Village near Dublin will host a series of exciting events in celebration of Horst’s work. Each Village will showcase 20 of Horst’s finest pieces from early September, along with fascinating film footage of Horst at work in the Vogue studios in the 1940s, to give guests to the Village a taste of what promises to be one of London’s most exciting events this autumn.
