“When you are in a car, beautiful places are a moment; if you stop the car, they are a cluster of moments.  When you walk, beautiful places are an eternity carved into the soul.”

Stephanie Dale – Author, Journalist, Travel Writer

UTracks, Australia’s leading active Europe holiday specialist has launched a walking and writing trek along the final stages of the Spanish Camino escorted by author, travel writer and journalist, Stephanie Dale.

Created for both new and experienced writers, the 11-day Walk & Write the Camino with Stephanie Dale covers the final 110 kilometres of the famous pilgrim route in northern Spain.

According to Stephanie, a hike along the Spanish Camino is one of the world’s greatest walking experiences, offering the perfect setting to walk, write and reflect.

“Walk & Write the Camino will include a series of writing workshops in beautiful villages, forests, farms and cities, giving participants the support, guidance and encouragement they need to write their story, in their own way,” she said.

“At certain places along the way, we will stop, rest and write, beside gentle streams, atop open hilltops, in afternoon cafes and iconic village squares.

“Group members can choose to walk together or take their own time – or likely a mix of both – it really will be up to the individual.

Also an experienced long distance walker, Stephanie believes firmly in the power of walking and writing for wellbeing.

“Walking and writing together are a brilliant solution for navigating life’s challenges, establishing clear pathways forward and bringing forth the story you long to write,” she said.

“The Camino is the perfect environment to walk on your own terms, stop when you feel like it, to sit quietly, find your creative rhythm and discover new ways to incorporate writing into your everyday life,” Stephanie said.

“You will literally write your journey home.”

Walk & Write on the Camino (Sarria – Santiago de Compostela) with Stephanie Dale departs 9 April 2018 and costs from $2,990 per person twin share (excludes airfares).

Participants will walk between 10 and 18 km each day staying in handpicked hotels and guesthouses. The itinerary includes 10 breakfasts and 10 dinners plus daily luggage transfers.

And by completing the final 110kms to Santiago de Compostela participants will be eligible to receive the “Compostela”, the official Camino certificate of completion.
