Today, surrounded by more than 100 different species of marine life, divers at Sea Life Sydney Aquarium donned their underwater flip flops and boardies and dived into some early Australia Day celebrations.

Domestic and international guests to the Sydney attraction received a pleasant surprise as Sea Life Sydney’s marine experts unveiled an Australian flag below the surface of the two million litre Great Barrier Reef exhibit, giving the picturesque tank a patriotic makeover ahead of the national day of celebration.

Curious onlookers including the a school of Trevally fish and a Black Tip shark noticed there was something fishy lurking in the water, and swam up close to their human pals to join in the fun.

The Australia Day festivities at Sea Life Sydney will continue all weekend long, with the attraction open every day from 10am to 6pm.
