Thousands get back to nature at Glenworth Valley

October 13, 2014 Destination Global No Comments Email Email

Glenworth Valley definitely proved the place to be over the Spring School Holidays and October Long Weekend, with record crowds getting ‘back to nature’ in the wilderness of Glenworth Valley (GV).

The October long weekend saw a massive increase in visitation of 23% to last year’s record visitation; along with a very healthy overall increase of 7.4% for the spring holiday period.

The stand out performers over the period were Glenworth Valley’s spectacular Guided Horse Trail Rides across the entire school holiday period, GVOA’s newest activity Laser Skirmish and Camping across the long weekend.

Many activities were a complete sell out across the long weekend – with newly introduced activities such as Laser Skirmish more than doubling its participation with a growth rate of 113% on 2013. The ‘Hour of Power’ sessions new for this holiday period experienced sell out sessions through popularity with younger participants due to shorter, fast paced sessions.

GV’s Guided Trail Rides have been increasing in popularity – with year on year growth of 13% and 32% respectively. With the ‘back to nature’ trend sweeping the country, visitors cannot get enough of exploring ancient rainforest trails on horseback.

Sticking with the ‘back to nature’ theme – thousands of campers took over Glenworth Valley across the October long weekend, with a 17% growth achieved over the long weekend period. Across the month of October, Glenworth Valley’s camping grounds hosted 4,459 visitor nights.

“It was fantastic to see the valley come alive with like-minded people taking a step back from the rush of the city and enjoying the outdoors; a campfire with family and friends; and getting amongst the action with a horse ride or quad bike ride.  The weather really turned it on and showed Glenworth Valley at its best” says Barton Lawler, Managing Director at Glenworth Valley.

Glenworth Valley Outdoor Adventures is Australia’s largest horse riding and outdoor adventure centre – and featuring over 200 horses on 3000 acres in the Central Coast’s hinterland region, just 15 minutes’ drive from Gosford.

Glenworth Valley is open 7 days a week to host your next outdoor adventure, bookings are essential. Phone (02) 4375 1222 or visit www.glenworth.com.au for bookings and enquiries.
